Children learning in nature at Power Level School

Education With Intention

Power Level School is a small, premium private microschool opening in Delaware, Ohio. We combine the artistic rhythm of Waldorf education with the hands-on independence of Montessori — all grounded in the classical Seven Liberal Arts.

Our "Power Leveling" philosophy means every moment of education is purposeful. Students advance through mastery — not by calendar — developing real-world skills alongside deep academic foundations.

With 10–18 students, your child is truly seen, known, and challenged every single day.

What Makes Us Different

Six pillars that define the Power Level School experience

📅

4-Day School Week

Monday through Thursday, with deeper focused learning. Fridays offer optional enrichment — nature adventures, art workshops, or academic intensives.

🌳

Nature-Forward

Daily outdoor time, school garden, and forest walks. Nature journals are a core academic tool — not a field trip afterthought.

🎨

Waldorf + Montessori

Artistic rhythm meets hands-on independence. Storytelling, music, watercolor painting alongside real Montessori materials and self-directed mastery.

🔒

Cautious Technology

No screens for PreK–3. We believe children deserve to build deeply human capabilities first — handwriting over typing, mental math over calculators.

🛡️

Skill Trees & Guilds

As students grow, they choose practical skill paths — cooking, woodworking, gardening, theatre — like a choose-your-own-adventure for real-world skills.

🏡

School as Third Space

Monthly Parent Days, seasonal festivals, and community meals. Families don't just drop off — they belong here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Power Level School

What does "Power Leveling" mean?
Power Leveling is our philosophy that every hour of education should meaningfully advance a student. Inspired by intentional game design, it means we optimize learning so no time is wasted — students progress through mastery, not by age or calendar. It's not rushing; it's making every moment count.
Why a 4-day school week?
Our 4-day week (Mon–Thu) provides over 1,100 instructional hours — exceeding Ohio's 910-hour requirement. The focused schedule allows for deeper learning during the week. Fridays are optional enrichment days featuring nature adventures, art workshops, and guest artisans. Families get a 3-day weekend for rest and family time.
What's the Waldorf-Montessori blend like in practice?
From Waldorf, we bring artistic rhythm — storytelling, watercolor painting, music, seasonal awareness, and an emphasis on imagination. From Montessori, we bring hands-on materials, self-directed exploration, and letting children learn at their own pace. The result is a warm, beautiful classroom where children build real capabilities through both structure and freedom.
Why no screens for younger students?
We believe children in PreK–3 deserve to build deeply human capabilities first. Handwriting over typing, mental math over calculators, face-to-face conversation over digital interaction. Technology is introduced thoughtfully in upper grades as a tool, not a crutch. We're preparing students for human life, not AI dependency.
Is Power Level School accredited?
Power Level School operates as an Ohio Nonchartered Nonpublic Supported (NCNP) school. We meet all Ohio Department of Education requirements including 910+ instructional hours, 10 required subjects, qualified teachers (bachelor's degree minimum), and annual standardized assessments. We are eligible for the Ohio EdChoice Expansion Scholarship.
What about financial aid?
Qualifying families may be eligible for the Ohio EdChoice Expansion Scholarship ($6,166 per student). We're committed to making exceptional education accessible and are exploring additional financial aid options.
Where is the school located?
Power Level School will be located in Delaware, Ohio — one of Ohio's fastest-growing counties, which currently has zero Waldorf or Montessori options. Our exact facility will be announced in mid-2026.
